Research consistently shows that leaders with strong emotional intelligence often outperform those who rely on intellectual ability alone.
In complex, fast-moving workplaces, it is the ability to understand yourself, read others accurately, and regulate your impact that most influences trust, engagement and performance.

Leadership is, at its core, a people discipline. When self-awareness, emotional regulation or interpersonal sensitivity are under-developed, even highly capable leaders can struggle to influence effectively, navigate tension, or get the best from others. Developing emotional intelligence is therefore not about becoming “softer” — it is about becoming more precise, more adaptable and ultimately more effective as a leader.

If this is something you would like help with, understanding which emotional intelligence skills you already have well developed and those that need some work could be a game-changer for your performance.
